April: Just be.

April is a very special month for me.

I was born April 30, 1990. I am a spring girl and always have been. Many a spring day I was outside, my brother and I playing with the cats, dog or baby goats.

I revel in the beauty brought by the return of warm weather and green leaves on the trees. The smell of fresh cut grass, and lilac blossoms always stops me in my tracks. The blooming flowers, budding trees, and sprouting seeds bring joy and peace to my life.

I married my husband on April 30, 2011.  I remember the beautiful day, sunny and warm, green fields and blue sky. We said our vows, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, til death do us part.

While we have had a lot more sickness than health, poorer than richer, our love has grown and deepened immensely since that day.

The past six years have allowed me to grow as a person. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but I would do it all again! I learned to love unconditionally, became a strong woman, and found myself.

I have learned that challenges and hardships make you stronger. I have learned to embrace my personality and that   Many qualities that may be perceived as flaws, are not flaws after all; but integral pieces of who I am.

Lately I have pondered often on the concept of the phrase: just be. Sometimes that is all you need. Just be alive! Take in the beauty of the world around you. Smell the scent of flowers on the breeze. Watch the clouds as they move across the sky. See the sunlight shine through the grass in the evening. So frequently we forget in all of the technology and routine of daily life,  and we do not take the time to enjoy the world around us.

I Challenge you to:

Love yourself.

Be kind to others.

Embrace your flaws.

Grow stronger through each hardship.

Just be!
